To think about creating a new world and building a better humanity, we need start by breaking many obsolete paradigms, some of them related to education. Today’s children are so perceptive, sensitive, curious, energetic, fast learners, honest, creative and independent, that we need to make the most of these qualities by giving them a learning space that allows them to develop their potential, to let their sensitivity and empathy flourish and to learn how to live in freedom using it responsibly. We should start to learn how to coexist with other beings in a respect and harmony-based relationship, beyond fear. Children should grow up learning these values, and without prejudices that tend to divide us, either because of belonging to some race, socio-economic level or any particular condition.
CREANDO Kindergarten seeks to generate this inclusive and integrating space for development in the beautiful town of Samaipata, Bolivia, where natural beauty blends with a calm and safe environment. It opens its doors to children from different social, economic and cultural backgrounds, and also to children with special needs responding to their specific needs.
Our main objective is to generate an inclusive and integrating environment that promotes affection, respect, imagination, creativity, flexibility, freedom, enjoyment and learning for children from 3 to 5 years old.
INTEGRAL DEVELOPMENT. We use the basis of Pedagogy 3000 to design our activities. Our objectives and academic projects are ordered in the following seven dimensions: psychomotor, cognitional, social emotional, creative artistic, ecologic, productive, and personal development.
THE CHILD BUILDS HIS/HER OWN LEARNING by doing, investigating, experiencing, making questions, playing and socializing. He/she is the CENTER and PROTAGONIST of his/her learning. The facilitator is no longer the authority, but a mediator that helps, facilitates and promotes significant activities or projects, so that the inner beauty and potential of every child can flourish on its own.
PLAYING is seen as a formative activity, pedagogic principle and didactic resource for teaching and learning while having fun. Letting children play whatever they want to play is an important part of the program. Our role is to give them the space and materials and theirs is to use their imagination and creativity to create their own games. The facilitator observes and helps in conflict-solving as a mediator.
VARIED METHODOLOGY. Children learn in different ways. This is why we try to offer a wide variety of interactions and strategies. In our activities, they learn by hearing, touching, observing, moving, smelling, tasting, reasoning and experiencing in different ways.
RESPECT TO INVIDIDUAL RYTHMS. Development and learning are different in every child because of different factors, such as temperament, personality, abilities, family, social and cultural context. We respect those differences and adapt our programs to every child’s needs and rhythm.
LOVE IS THE KEY. We consider love, affection, respect and genuine care as the key in human interaction. Also in the learning process, love will be the key to open growth both in children and in adults. At all times, children are treated with love and respect, which doesn’t mean lack of limits or rules that are beneficial for everybody.
We develop different activities that will allow the full development of each of the seven human dimensions (7 petals): initial circle, daily routine and order and hygiene habits, monthly projects, role playing, artistic and creative activities, music through songs, games and dance, pottery workshop, gardening and environment caring workshop, recycling, cooking, yoga and meditation in motion.
The objective of this campaign is to allow this dream come true to continue, with the help of each and every person who is willing to make a bet for a new way of learning and growing. We offer different reward for those who would like to support our project. CREANDO kindergarten is already open, but we need your help so that it can cover the functioning expenses for the rest of year 2017, since a lot of families in Samaipata have low incomes and don’t pay the full fee. We cannot collect your contribution until the end of this campaign, and can only collect it if we reach the goal.
