To Dallas 2014
In early December, eighteen players from the Spanish National Roller Derby Team (Team Spain), will be traveling to the USA to participate in Blood & Thunder Roller Derby World Cup.
The Blood & Thunder Roller Derby World Cup, .will be held between 4 and 7 December in Dallas, Texas. Team Spain will compete alongside 29 other countries for the coveted World Cup.
The 18 Team Spain players currently live in six European cities: Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Barcelona, ??Cáceres, Madrid, London, England and Malmö, Sweden. They will leave home full of pride to be able to represent Spain at a national level at the Blood & Thunder Roller Derby World Cup! Are the six cities where players will leave the course to fulfil a dream, represent the national roller derby in a world championship
Traveling to Dallas
A total of 20 people will cross the pond to Dallas,(two coaches/managers and 18 players), a team selected based on their talent, experience and dedication to be ambassadors for Spanish Roller Derby.

We realise that times are tough and we are starting from scratch, raising funds for this once in a lifetime opportunity to represent Spain, but we are convinced that with our hard work,commitment and dedication, anything is possible!
The current economic climate in Spain means that there is no financial support for grass-roots sports like roller derby. Additionally, more than half of our players are students with no way to cover the costs. This crowdfunding campaign will help fund our mission, contributing to the cost of airline tickets.
This is the first time in history that we will see a Spanish National Roller Derby Team competing at the Blood & Thunder World Cup. This will, without a doubt, increase the team's experience and skills of our players, thus further promoting the growth of roller derby in our country.

Experience of Team Sapain Roller Derby
Team Spain Roller Derby began in 2013 when a group of players got together and decided to make history. They chose some international coaches with several years of experience in the sport.This then led to the selection of the 26 best national players.

Throughout 2014, Team Spain has held tough training weekends in Barcelona and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
In early September Team Spain participated in our first official tournament, where we finished 7th place at the European Championship Roller Derby held in Belgium.
