The Dungeon Tavern is a restoration project in Cantabria, (north) Spain, which I intend to develop in the municipality of Santa Cruz de Bezana, which is close (15 minutes or less by car) and well connected to most of the main population centers of the región, including the capitol.
It is a themed brewery-pub and sports tavern, with Celtic and Nordic cultures as a workhorse and common thread. It is not designed with standard decoration, but to be an integral setting. The model of the premises appears in the project video and in the image gallery. That will give you a clear idea of ??what the establishment will be like.
Please don't forget to watch the presentation video or access the image gallery! And also click on the "Needs" tab, where you will find more information about the project, such as reward increases.

What makes up The Dungeon Tavern?
• Live music, with rock, folk and metal as the daily soundtrack.
• Beer, mead, rations, burguers and everything that a place of these characteristics can offer.
• Sports: American football as a priority sport, NFL and LNFA (Spain), but also rugby, Bohurt (medieval combat) or the Highlands Games (Scotland) among others.
• Board games available to customers. Wargamers and role-players are also welcome to develop their activities here.
• Reading club, small library, presentation of books and records.
• Space inside for recording podcasts or similar and even radio programs. Large fireplace. Big screen. Own parking.
• In the back, outside, there will be a barbecue area, covered gazebo and fire pit (brazier), combat arena (federated members only) and a drakar (historical reconstruction) that will serve as a terrace, all in an environment that over time will be a small grove of maples. You will also see it in the video!
Why do I do it?
Because after 45 times around the sun I have found the clearest goal in my entire life, something into which I can pour all my experience and knowledge.
Because after 3 years taking small steps to move this project forward I know that I have the determination to make it come to life and persist over time, as long as I have the support of friends and strangers who are committed to it: your help.
Because I'm looking for a place to call "mine" and to be able to share it with everyone who finds a corner in The Dungeon Tavern to call "theirs."
Because I seek, like the vast majority, to prosper in this life with a decent job.
Because I seek to be able to give back to my mother and father everything they have given me, even though I know that is impossible.
Because the world belongs to the brave... Dare with me!
We will be alone?
No, not at all!
Luckily we have the support of sports teams, associations, music groups, companies and professionals who have supported this project from the beginning. To all of them my repeated and sincere thanks. Thanks a lot!
There we will have the Berserkers of Torrelavega and the Cantabria Bisons (American football), Minas Tirith and Eternal Wars Cantabria (board games and wargames), Tercio Norte (old fencing hall), Alberto Guaita (writer), Valhalla Hidromiel (bottler/distributor), to La Torre de Marfil and Melic de Serp (specialized clothing stores), Criaturä and Granada Goblin (music groups), to Marcos Sastre (film director) and Noche de Rock (radio program).
What are my goals?
The goal is to obtain €400,000 ($430,180 / £337,800 Values dependent of exchange fluctuation) to start the project; That will give me the capacity (guarantee) to be able to request a loan from the ICO (Official Credit Institute, Spain) with which to face the rest of the project (banking entity through), start payments for fees and licenses, acquire the land where to build the premises, hire an architecture studio and a construction company, agency, lawyer, etc., in addition to having a cushion for the inevitable unforeseen events.
Yes, it is a big project that will require a lot of effort, but... without risk there is no glory!
I can face the grotesque bureaucracy and complexity that exists alone when deciding to undertake a business, I am not afraid of them, but I cannot take the first step without that financial support.
Needless to say, I risk everything I have, including my health, on this project, and now that you know the whys, I just need your support to start it.
Other objectives (although not specifically crowdfunding).
As you may have noticed, this project is linked to leisure and culture: music, board games, books, drawing and painting...
I intend for The Dungeon Tavern to be an enhancer of both, beyond a place linked only to spirits and food.
It will be a music-friendly place, offering groups and soloists (within the styles that will be heard in the establishment) the power to present and develop their art on a stage obtaining a fair remuneration, always within the possibilities of the venue.
It will try to encourage the reading habit with a reading club, which will meet every two weeks, and with the purchase of books. There will also be a small library on site for guests to read during their stay or borrow. Additionally, there will be presentations and book signings.
Reading is a pending subject in these parts... In this way we will do our bit to try to remedy it.
Every year there will be a quick drawing contest (thematic, as it could not be otherwise) to encourage something that we are little by little losing, which is the ability to create shapes with the help of "rustic" instruments, such as a pencil, charcoal or similar.
Also one for quick painting of wargame miniatures and other formats.
In addition to the respective prizes for the winners, in both cases there will be a place in the premises where the most outstanding works can be exhibited.
Board games, board games with cards and chips, will have their place here. And I'm not talking about Parcheesi, dominoes and things like that (although they will also have their place), but about titles like Carcassonne, Zombicide, Hero Quest, Settlers of Catan, Pandemic, Exploding Kittens... Magic or even L5A.
Those who want to fight their wargame battles can reserve a table and display their figures in a place friendly to that hobby. And roleplaying groups that do not have a fixed site or the ease of accessing one to play a one-shot game or develop a campaign can also do so. Let's roll some dice!
Any of these activities is a good excuse to share some time with our loved ones and escape from everyday life, don't you think?
The Dungeon Tavern is a meeting place between people, one where we can enjoy pleasant moments with our loved ones while sharing some beers or some rabas (squid, for those of you who are not from the (this) north. "Wink") and, as you have read, of much much more.
It deserves all my effort, sweat and tears.
I hope it is also worthy of your support.
